Hey everyone! Thank you for waiting so patiently. Here, you will be informed about the most important happening in your studies so far — freshie week. We are still busily preparing this jam-packed week, but we are ready to announce the preliminary schedule:

note: there are separate tutorials for Master’s and Bachelor’s Freshies. The “for Masters” in the tutorial slots refers to the fact that only Master’s tutorials are hybrid for now (meaning you can show up in person or join via webconf).
About the schedule
The week officially begins on Monday, October 6th, at 10:00 AM in Building 15, Room E10, with a Welcome Talk. If you cannot attend in person, you can join the online room via THIS LINK.
In case you are already in Osna on Sunday, we are also offering a chill City Tour which will begin at the botanical garden on the Westerberg Campus at 3pm 🙂
If you’ve already taken an interest in some of the events, please fill out this non-binding Tally form. Don’t worry if you’re not quite sure yet, you will get detailed descriptions for all the events at the beginning of Freshie Week, and you are not obligating yourself to anything, nor are you excluding yourself by not fill the Tally form out — we are simply trying to gauge interest in the various events. Thanks! 🙂
Tutorials
The tutorials are a key part of Freshie Week and are split into three sessions. Each session builds on the previous one, so it’s important to attend all three if you can. Please bring your laptop to each session as you’ll need it to participate fully.
You’ve been assigned to a tutorial group based on your last name. You can find your group, tutors, and room details in the Freshie Booklet which you will receive 1) as a printed copy in your Freshie Bag on Monday at the Welcome Talk, and 2) on an Email on Monday evening.
Unisport
Osnabrück university offers a large selection of sports courses that you can attend at very low cost. The program for this winter semester is already online and can be accessed HERE. Registration starts on 06.10.2025 at 08:00am (2 hours before the CogSci welcome talk), and some courses are booked out in a matter of minutes, so if you are really interested in a course, set an early alarm! 🙂
Some last remarks
- many of you noticed that the sign-up link for the student body mailing list did not work. We are aware of this; the IKW has been moving things around on the website and we are at this time unable to provide a working link 🙁
- if you haven’t yet, join the 2025 CogSci Freshies Telegram Group!
We are looking forward to seeing some of you on Sunday for the city tour, and all of you on October 6 at 10am for the Welcome Talk :)]
